Introductory Puppy Love Post

Updated: Jun 4, 2024

Dog with a feather

Hello Friends-

Thank you for joining me on my introductory blog post on the Puppy Love website! I hope this will be the first of many that you will read here. My hope is that this blog will brighten your day, teach you something new and ultimately enrich the lives of you and your pups—even if in some small way.

Certainly a recurring character in these posts will be Shadow—our three-year old charming and feisty girl who is ever in need of etiquette training. If Ms. Manners were faced with this little one, she’d surely throw up her hands. Shadow, is a dirt magnet given her preference to be in her yard—or her “big grass” as she calls it—in any kind of weather. She shuns baths and will physically bolt from the room at the sound of the water running, even if it’s related to dish washing.

Further, she holds bully sticks in her mouth like Winston Churchill would have enjoyed a Cuban cigar—NOT becoming for a three-year-old little girl. …and perhaps the worst, and most frequent, is the impolite position in which she often sits—with her back legs splayed out—again, NOT becoming for a young lady. Even the name of her breed—havapoo—begs for a bit of refinement.

So, should we seek etiquette training for this wayward young lady? We think not. We’re in love with our little girl just the way she is, dirt, cigars and all. We look forward to sharing her antics as well as her favorites with you, and to hearing stories about your pups as well. Please join me here for future blog posts. As you know, “there’s no love like puppy love!”

-Jennifer
